Kaptan wine and Tapas
« on: June 15, 2010, 02:39:07 PM »
Just back from kalkan and have not seen any mention of this new venue. It is next door to chilli's on the kalamar road and very different in style. It has a great atmosphere and the music is what you would expect from Ali. The tapas is great I just love haveng lots of different bits of hot and cold foods and this suits in hot weather when you loose your appetite a little. I also like the elegant glasses that the wine is served in and the choice. It has been opened by Ali from Kaptans restaurant on the Harbour and is a nice place for just a chill out drink before or after eating. And for those of you that remember the old sandals bar there is a small area that could be used as a dance floor hidden away at the rear, lets see how this developes.

We popped in just after it had opened over half term week. We took the short cut down to The Kalamar Road from The Emir apartments and bumped into Ali who showed us around. The area at the back would be ideal for dancing to a live band. I would love to bring my band over for a week or so of gigs at Ali's bar, The Nur Hotel, Kas, etc.,but I guess its not really practical.  8)

Totally agree, that area at the back would be great for a live band and somewhere to dance a little (or a lot). What a gem this new bar is - popped in and had a great evening when it had just opened. This could turn out to be the coolest place in Kalkan....so looking forward to spending lots of chillin' time there very soon. Anyone play saxophone?
