Lighthouses

Has anyone seen the pictures of the newly painted lighthouses on KTLN? Is it just me or does anyone else think they absolutely hideous? They stand out like a sore thumb. I hope someone realises and paints them white again!

You are right ..they are minging!!...They look like a pair of giant Zippo lighters!!...it's supposed to be colour coded for Port & Starboard......but what happens at night in the dark? yes they have a light on top but white is better surely?

As they are red and green maybe they are giant traffic lights!

I don't know if I may have mentioned that we're getting married in Kalkan         !!!!  We we're going to have a few pics taken at the lighthouse - certainly won't be bothering now!

It's probably something maritime as opposed to choice...indeed, it has to be. You wouldn't paint them those garish colours without a very good reason

As i said in my post it means left and right in sailor speak..it's port and starboard...but it's still plug ugly

Or is it port and stilton?  And what about if you are approaching from the other direction?

Its certainly going to look very odd on the postcards! The more I look the more I cant believe how theyve ruined the view

They coould have kept them mainly white with a hoop of red or green around ..at least that woul be easier on the eye...
