Couples bar
« on: April 08, 2010, 04:44:15 PM »
We are, for the first time, visiting Kalkan without our son (off to fight for his country).  Is there a bar that couples tend to hang out in the eveinng.  In the past we have always  eaten and then go back to our villa.  It would be good to meet up with some other people to have a chat.

Hi,

We generally have a pre-dinner drink in Moonlight then, depending where we have eaten, we go to either Merkez at the top of town or Kleo in the harbour for post dinner drinks. We also enjoy having drinks in the comfy seating areas after dinner at Trio and Aubergine. The garden cafe bar is also very nice, opposite Salt and Pepper.

Just a few suggestions for you. Enjoy  :)

Regards

Jo

I agree with Jo, Kleo bar is great for a nice chilled out cocktail. Last year we spent until 3am drinking cocktails. Joan do you remember that night  ;) ?? Also if they don't have them on the list they will happily make what you want..Brandy Alexanders yum !

Alshepuk I'm sure you'll find that lots of people will chat wherever you go, whether they are a couple or not.  Kalkan is the friendliest place on earth (thanks to the locals, UK residents and other visitors).  I'd never spoken to so many people on holiday until I went to Kalkan.  It's continued to be the case whether I go with another female friend or on my own.  I'm sure you'll meet lots of interesting people and probably make new friends for life.

Like Jofoss, we have pre-dinner drinks in Moonlight and often end up there later on sometime - the tables are quite close to each other and the slope is always a conversation piece  ;D . We usually come to Kalkan as a couple, but last year our daughters came with us for one of our trips. We found when we came back in October, everywhere we went the staff asked where they were

We also love Moonlight for the pre-dinner drinks. As we're in Kalamar Bay (Kulube) we stop at Pascha apartments bar on the way "home" for a few, just to keep the chilled feeling going. There's always friendly people who want to chat, so nice and sociable.
Shine on, you crazy diamond.

Well that's a blow about the Yali changing hands.Lets hope the new owners are as amenable as Dormus and his team were.

A young guy called Musa and his cousin (sorry forget his name) are running Yali this year.  Some of you might remember Musa from the hardware shop just up past Kaya, always extremely helpful . He's a lovely young fellow and speaks very good English. Definately will be calling in to support him.  And yes when they opened mid April, the big screens were in place!
