UK Televisions

[Enjoy Kalkan]

Hi,

Just wondered if anyone could help on this one.... our TV in Kalkan has packed in but we have a small flat panel tv spare in the UK.

I know there will obviously be the customs / tax and power plug issue, but does anyone know if the TV will work in Turkey as it has built in freeview - Im not expecting to recieve freeview but wondered if the tuner is different across the world

My tecchie husband (Turkish) assures me that your UK TV will work in Turkey. The freeview won't work, but as you will have to purchase a box here (Digiturk/D Sat) and whoever sets that up for you will tune it into the appropriate Turkish satellite/aerial.
My tip, if you haven't already considered it, is to bring your TV over in your luggage on the plane (having just imported three boxes of household stuff by freight into Turkey - total nightmare with Turkish Customs, never to be repeated...)
