Pirat or Nur?
« on: January 09, 2010, 08:59:15 AM »
We are coming over in Feb for a long weekend so we can open a bank account ready for completing on our property in March. We need a hotel and I believe both the Pirat and Nur will be open then. Which is the best hotel (bearing in mind not bothered about pool in Feb) and where are they both situated in Kalkan?
Cheers
Anna

IMHO - the Nur is the better hotel!!  Pirat is right down by the harbour - Nur is opposite end of town near the banks..!!LOL!

Hi
You may find it better to stay in an apartment rather than a hotel, especially when the hotel's will be v quiet at this time. That way, you can come and go as you please - I remember when we were in the same situation, it's a v busy time. Also, you can get ideas on furnishings etc and if you're planning to rent out, get some tips on that too from the property you stay in too.
Good luck with the property purchase!

Nur, hands down... Baris (the owner) is a mine of local information and he is extremely helpful too - it's easy to come and go as you please there (plus the Nur is right in amongst all the banks)!

But I'm biased, obviously!!!   ;) :)

I'd agree re the Nur, Baris made us very welcome each time we called in (even though we were staying somewhere else)
Shine on, you crazy diamond.
