Visiting Kalkan for the first time
« on: September 22, 2009, 10:12:37 PM »
I have read some bad reviews about Kalkan but mostly good reviews. We are a group of 9 people with kids aged between 5yrs to 16 yrs & we hope to have our next holiday in 2010 in Kalkan. I would appreciate advice/reviews about the following questions please:
1) Has anyone stayed at Villa Earl Grey - see link www.holidaylettings.co.uk/rentals/kalkan/45612 ? If so, is it in a quiet area? What is it like?
2) Has anyone used www.cizgirentacar.com? I found them thru tripadvisor (one of the ads at the top). They seem to have th cheapest rates (€644 for 14 days) so far for the type of vehicle we need for next August.

Any other suggestions for villas/car hire would be appreciated. We wish to stay away from the "loud" areas.

Many thanks in advance

I personally know Villa Earl Grey and have stayed there myself.  It is a lovely villa in a quiet area - albeit a fair and steep walk back from town -  and with a lovely pool.  It is in a great area - just villas around with pretty gardens and a great team who will look after you during your stay.  You will have a lovely time in that villa - I  know!

Re: car rental - I think you posted on TA and somebody gave a negative feedback?  If you rent Villa Earl Grey - I'm pretty sure you can rent a minibus through the owners/villa management team - that would be my recommendation.  Otherwise, Abi or Enes in Kalkan - I would be wary of the Company you quote..!!

Enjoy!

Hi Felicity

Thanks for your reply again - a couple more questions I would like to ask please.
What is the are like where Villa Earl Grey is? Is quiet/loud, etc?
Are there any hotels nearby? If so, would you be able to provide details?
Thanks again.
Nila

Hi Nila - this villa is in a very quiet residential area - no hotels close by - probably the Samira Deluxe or Mediteran are the nearest but not near enough to bother you with any noise.

I havent replied to your other posting as you seem to be asking the same question..??  ??? ???
