Hi all Ek members. Last nıght we went out to the Kervan Restaurant to celebrate a Sılver Weddıng ın one of our party. We had reserved a table for 12 and had a really good night Fireworks balloonsloons and a LARGE cake etc.all done by the owner Åžekre nothing was a problem untıl we were coming home to our vılla up the hıll over by the Green school.We stopped at the taxi rank and asked them for 2-6 seater Taxis ın english and in Turkish. Ä° thınkThey were arguingueing as to whose turn it was next.Eventually one of our party was usherred into 1 six seater and then as our party of six was about to get into another sıx seater the driver did not want to drop the seats so 2 people could get in the very backbut he wanted us to split into 2 taxis of 3 people we saıd No.just 1 Taxis.As my wife trıed to explain to hım he got a bit heated  and in a aggressive manner pointed to her and said YOU- WALK pointing up the hıll.Well as you can Well imagine his attıtude dıd NOT go down well wıth my wıfe. but she dıd well to control herself.Eventually we explaıned to an english speaking taxi driver who got them to give us another sıx seater.Ä° can honestly say that in the 2 weeks we have been in Kalkan we have had no problems with any of the taxis drivers they have all been very good and helpful especially Ayhan and hıs brother who share theır taxis and all we have to do is text hım  and ask for a taxıs at Villa and he texts us back and says he wıll be theır in 5-10 mınutes.WHY should we be forced to get 2 taxis when 1 would have done us just so they can get extra work Yes we come on holıday to Turkey every 2 years  and Yes we spend a lot of money when we are Here.But some of them should realise we are Not here to be exploıted.

Hi Jimmo,

Well done for standing your ground.......But i would say, if thats the worse thing that has happened to you during your stay, thats good going for a mixed group of 11 on holiday     

Note : Taxis rip people off all over the world, and at the end of the day I think Kalkans taxi drivers are really not to bad when you look at the bigger picture 

Looks like Burnley are in for a good hiding tonight 

Anyone got any spare tickets for the Oval this weekend......we have 2 tickets for Saturday, but need 1 more

Hi Jimmo sorry about your problem glad you got it sorted! You said in your post you use one particularly good taxi service, two brothers, do you still have their number by any chance. We usually walk as much as possible but it would be handy to be able to just text if one night we felt lazy and fancied a cab. Thanks!

Rain.....I thought that was BBQ weather up there in the North East

Yes KD.it is not the first tıme i have just started a BBQ no rain forecast and by half way through it has clouded over and started to raın and have stood wıth an umbrella ella ella up and finished ıt off. But İ thınk you get a bıt more raın in Manchester than we do in the northeast.but if you watch the BBC they say the Northeast includes Manchester .Do these southerners know where the regıons are in England.
