Its true a big golf company approached Ovakoy mayor and the national parks authority to build a golf course the other side of patara. I understand the proposal was refused and they are now building it in sarigerme which is further west along the coast after dalaman airport. It should be completed in 2010.

The Hilton Golf Resort and Spa has opened at Dalaman. The journey time from Kalkan is about an hour and forty minutes. The hotel and Spa are open now, the golf course opens next year.

Until then, nearest golf courses are at Belek, the other side of Antalya, approx 3.5 - 4 hours drive from Kalkan.
