There was a interesting couple of posts in the restaurant, nightlife and shopping section, of all places. Basically a local business gave information directly to a EK members question. Whether intentionally or by accident, the business got some advertising in.

I know Jon has said there will be some changes made in the near future, what they will be I can only guess.

Surly with the success of EK, this sort of advertising technique is going to be used more and more often. Lets be honest, if I were running a business in Kalkan I would use every trick in the book to get my product talked about on this site, thus generating potential cash flow for me.

Should it be open to all, or only to ex pats?? Could this even be enforced?? I am pretty sure other sites like TA and My Merhaba are already compromised with questionable topics/questions and answers, etc.

Has anyone got any thoughts on this, or is it only me who finds it annoying, who looks at a post and wonders what motive is behind the question, is it a genuine post or a plant.

I think in time any business that tries the "false post" technique will only alienate potential customers when they can have a free advert anyway!
