Hi
I went a few years back for one week in December and it was lovely. Jeans and T shirt during the day, Jeans and a fleece at night. Restaurants were busy-ish and good fun. ;D
We went the following year and it rained for 5.5 days out of 7, restaurants were empty, and we all said never again! :(
It is a lottery!

I wrote a report on our experience on EK last New Year. Very different, lots more sightseeing and changeable weather but lovely and cosy in the restaurants with the log fires etc. We're going again this time

I am doing likewise.  I did book last year but wasted the flights due to business pressures.  This year I and, hopefully, some friends will be there.  I am looking forward to it mostly as my local friends have said that the pace of life is much different from the high season - they are not rushing around or tired from their own businesses.  Although the weather will be variable, I am also hoping we can get in some walks.  Also, it will make a good test to see if I would like to make it full time in Kalkan.

Its great, so different.  Cold at night so be prepared to wrap up, atmosphere is also good as everyone is chilled from the tourist season.  Be prepared for some rain, but the temps during the day can be very warm.  We go Dec/Jan and have been mid January.  Well worth it we think.  Wild flowers are out & all very green.  Make sure you have heating indoors.  Go for it.

We have been a couple of times at the end od December for New Year and always had a great time. Yes its different and its pot luck with weather, although we have been quite lucky, mostley the weather was a bit like it has been at home this week. It can be a bit chilly at night though. Enough restaurants stay open and have log fires and New Year at Aubergine is fab, in fact we booked our table when we were there in June and he already had a lot bookings. Its nice to get awy from the festive madness over here

Had Christmas out there last year and came home on 29th December.  Had a lovely week, very different obviously to the summer when we usually visit.  However, the market was bustling on Christmas day - needed some more socks as apartment floor was very cold on the feet!

On Christmas day, stood about outside Kaya enjoying drinks before lunch with other guests, having sat down at the harbour in the sunshine before that.

It is cold at night and we had invested in a little electric heater which we were very glad of.

We had a couple of days of rain but the welcome everywhere we went, made up for that.

Go for it, we certainly will do it again.
