KALKAN PARK HOTEL KALAMAR
« on: July 14, 2009, 03:24:48 PM »
Has anyone heard of the Kalkan Park Hotel On Yolu Uzeri 26.  It looks new and is a very good price.   I cannot find any reviews.  Is this far from the Ekin Han Hotel which is where we have always stayed but is sadly closed.

Thankyou
JAN :)

Hi Jan

It's just before Cafe Vita on the other side of the road, so before Ekin Han and the derelict hotel. It's new this season, I wasn't sure if it was a hotel or apartments.
Apartment owner nr. Kalamar.

It is a sort of apartotel - it has 10 rooms sleeping from 2 to 4 persons - all en-suite - wall mounted plasma tv's etc and looks smart
Outside it has a pool and pool and pool area with a small cafe serving the usual burgers etc
The room rates that were quoted seemed reasonable for the place and its a sort of 10 minute [ish] walk to the centre - its about a 2 minute walk to the Elixier Hotel if that helps you
Probably OK for a few days stay
The two guys running it are very helpful and speak good English and as this is it's first season are trying to make it a success
Have had a look around but never stayed there as we live here

We passed it several times whilst out for a walk and it looked fairly busy and quite nice - not too far to walk into Kalkan. Would have stopped for a bit of a nosey, only we wanted to try out Cafe Vita...then wanted to go back there everytime we went that way, it was so nice :)

With all the development in Kalkan, I wonder why no-one has done something with the derelict hotel - it's such an eyesore ???
Better to keep your mouth shut and appear stupid than to open it and remove all doubt :)

It is strange nothing has been done with the derelict hotel, its in a good spot and could be made into a nice place with a bit of TLC

I did hear it belongs to somebody who is in prison...don't quote me on this but two brothers(german extraction) used to own it.after a major fall out one killed the other ..my source was many years ago by several Kalkan villagers..unless anyone knows different...we all know about "local stories"
still seems a waste of land when you consider where they have been building :)
People Of Britain.. When your missus asks "Does my bum look big in this? Never say "Dunno your blocking the light."... just sayin ????

 ta ta for now

Thankyou all for the replies.  Going off the pictures for the hotel I thought it was located up the hill from the Lizo Hotel but couldn't think where.  I don't know if it is a good idea to stay too near to Cafe Vita  though...the thought of those delicious home made chips just doesn't bear thinking about!!!!  Or does it?
