Fashion in Kalkan
« on: July 02, 2009, 10:17:39 AM »
We''ve been going to Kalkan since 2004 and I''ve always enjoyed getting dressed up in the evenings, but this year we were amazed at the fashion parade it has become. Most men seem to be in long trousers, despite the heat, and the ladies - well, some looked like they were going to a ball, or a formal night on a cruise ship! Long dresses seem very fashionable this year, also white trousers are almost a uniform. Marks & Spencer Per Una cotton tops were very much in evidence, I have three and kept praying I wouldn''t see someone in the same colour on the same night!
So if you enjoy people-watching, as we do, you are in for a great time! The majority look lovely, but there are a few "O-my-God, did they look in the mirror?" to have a giggle at. Especially the high heels!!! For any first-timers, the streets in Kalkan are STEEP HILLS - wear flats!

yes - I went for the first time this year and was impressed by the ''dressing up'' of an evening!
Lots of floaty frocks and pretty flip flops caught my eye and looked a lot happier than those who tried to pour hot, sweaty flesh into skin tight dresses and high heels in 43 degree heat!
