Hi Firecat,
Why not try Monarch? we book through Travel Republic and have done for 3 years with no problems and so far "touch wood" no delays.

why not have a look at Onur Air they are as good as most these days(aegean flights),I flew with easy jet in aug, never again ! three and a half hour delay from manchester-because the crew didnt turn up,seats dont recline, and all the cabin crew wanted to do was tart themselves up in the loo,we were in row 10,near the front of the plane and it took 1 hour and 45 mins to reach us with a trolley for food and drinks,easy-my **** !
EFES TIME AGAIN !

Slightly off topic but going out next month with Fly Globespan  ::) heard some none too complimentary things about them but been checking the last few Weeks and the flight has been going out on time. Here's hoping :)

Onur are good - www.aegeanflights.co.uk..and their Sept dates are available for booking now. We booked with Travel Republic for next year, they seem to have got us the cheapest flights going and again you could book with them now for next September. Good luck :)

I've had a quick look at Onur and thankfully they are publishing their late summer 2010 prices, but they are not all that cheap at over £600 for two return tickets. Also not altogether loving the 3.45am Dalaman arrival given that villa check in is not until typically 4pm or thereabouts  :(  Any suggestions what I do with my 72 year old mother for the intervening 12 hours? Suggestions that I won't be arrested for?  ;D

I may end up eating my 'never again' words and travelling Thomas Cook. Eek.

Hi Firecat,
The trouble is, the times can change this far ahead, can't they? Ours changed three times from January, so we ended up with what we didn't realy want. It's trying to back one you think will stick - and at a good price. I'm very tempted by getting in early with Jet 2 - which is OK if you are going from Manchester or Leeds. And I see Monarch are still offering the nice daytime flight - which was £400 each this year, just after we had booked through Travel Republic with BMI at £300 each. I, personally, would have to swallow very hard to go TC, but that's just me?!

cheers

Crikey Antler! I just filled in their on flight survey stating that I would sooner barbecue my own head than ever fly with them again! Do you think they'll know it's me if I book in disguise?  O0

We flew Easyjet from Manchester for the first time this August and I was really impressed. More legroom than TC, we booked speedy boarding so a bit less of a bun fight. Great service and very efficient. Their flights aren't up for next September yet though

Yes, I had an online chat with one of their operatives today and he/she (probably he actually since the screen said the name was Martin) said simply that the timetable for dates beyond June 2010 would be published 'before Christmas'. Ideally I will have sorted the villa side of things well ahead of that though.  Should I book the accommodation for the dates I want and assume I can dovetail the flights later?

I would have thought you'd be Ok. There are more companies flying out there now so you will get there with someone, plus you'll have more options  in a few weeks. I've been looking at Turkish Cyprus airlines aswell but they only show 320 days ahead.

I'd agree, Firecat - BBQ your head then wait for a good deal with anyone but TC!  If last year was anything to go by, there was a lot around in January / February.

We will probably book the accommodation and then fit the flights around it - but I expect the two will come together quite quickly. We want to go for the "18 day" thing again, which does knock out a few airlines, but many of them seem to have Friday / Monday flights.

I've got this feeling, though, that it may be popular again, because of the Euro, and I seem to bump into many people who have been for the first time this year  (like us) and want to go back again next year.

cheers

I think you will get the best deal on Easyjet, as long as you get in quick once the go on sale. Last year on the first day they went on sale you could get a return flight for £140.

Thanks - I will look out for that.  I think I'll just press on and book my accommodation and let the flights sort themselves out in their own good time.

We're flying easyJet next month - have used them for other destinations with no problems in the past and they were the cheapest for a lateish deal. However, I found them really expensive for May/June and I was one of the first to get their release date through via their mailing list.
Travel Republic will check all the airlines and get the cheapest deal. Like Antler, we prefer 18 days, so we need to go schedule rather than charter and Travel Repbulic will put you on to two different airlines if its cheaper :)
