Turkish Bath
« on: June 18, 2009, 03:37:00 PM »
Hi there

I realise this subject has been touched on quite a bit on the forum, however, I couldn''t find any current posts for this year on the subject.

My husband and I stayed in Kalkan last year for the first time (and we are now hooked!) but unfortunately didn''t get round to experiencing a Turkish Bath and this time round (we have two weeks booked at the beginning of July), I want to make sure that we experience one as it sounds great.

Is the consensus that either Asfiya or Regency or Atlantis are still the best places to go for this?  Do you think we will need to book ahead as it would be great to have this on day one of our hols if at all possible?  Are the costs similar to last year - approx £20 ish?

Also, and I apologise now in advance if this seems rather a silly question, what do you wear or need to take with you for one?

I would just like to say what a great forum this is, I discovered it last year prior to our hols and got lots of tips and advice on what to see and where to go etc.  We got well and truly bitten by Kalkan last year and so decided to return again this year, which is a first for us as we usually try to go somewhere different every year.

Thank you in advance for your help.

MichelleK

I always use the Asfiya, always very clean and friendly and still £20 this year. As you realise it is best to go the first day (gets rid of all the dead skin and helps with a deeper more even tan)

I never bother to book I just turn up around 9.00 am on my first morning and they fit me in.

All you need are swimming costumes ansd a plastic bag to carry them home in cause they will be wet.

Lucky you it is very relaxing but also invigorating and you will leave feeling squeeky clean.

October till my next one sigh!

We are going to the Atlantis Wellbeing (as usual!) behind Yali supermarket - £15 is their 1 hour one and £35 is their 2 hour full monty including the oil and head massage..but we find the 1 hour package is fine to get you in the mood!

Enjoy!

Where in Kalamar Rd is it?  The building looks familiar but I can''t place it.  We normally stay at the Lizo so where is it in relation to that.  9weeks to go ;D

From the hotel continue on towards Kalamar
Pass the shop on your right

Hi MichelleK

We used the Regency last week and it was as good as ever.  The cost for non-residents is now £23.

Enjoy

Another vote here for the Atlantis.  95TL for the full turkish bath and massage and it was a lovely clean place with friendly staff.

The 95 lire service at Atlantis is great value - even for those of us who don''t need a facelift  :)

Definitely Atlantis - they''ve got new masseurs this year and they''re certainly not fat, pot bellied old geezers. I''m talking toned and fit young men!! Gets my vote ;) :)

I went last week and enjoyed the experience as always but felt it was a little bit rushed this time.
