Hotel Kalamer and Taxi
« on: June 03, 2009, 01:45:19 PM »
Hello all, visiting Kalkan for the first time for 10 soon. Can anyone advise me of the approximate cost of a taxi from the town to to the Hotel Kalamar?

Also, approximately how far on foot is it if we were to walk in to town?

Finally, If anyone has stayed at teh Hotel Kalamar before and can give me some tips about the hotel I would be very grateful!

Hotel Kalamar is about a 20 minute walk in to town, once you get used to the walk it is not that bad, and gives you plenty of exercise, I walk in to town and back once or twice a day when I am there. You can also break the walk up by stopping for refreshments at cafe vita.

Last year a taxi cost about 11TL that is just for one way, and after 12 midnight it goes up to about 16TL

I have not been in to the hotel Kalamar but i have been in the grounds, and it looks lovely with stunning views. Also you are very near to the Kalamar beach club, not sure if people holidaying in the hotel use this free of charge.

When are you going?

Hi Begonvil
Flying out next Friday for 10 nights. We have been to Turkey numerous times over the last twenty years, including Icmeler (which we love) Side & Belek. We thought we would try somewhere totally different this year and we can''t wait!

Have a great time Hooded claw, thought you may have been there the same time as me, I go on the 4th July, and staying only a stones throw away from the kalamar Hotel.

I do know that they refurbished the Kalamar in 2007 and resurfaced the tennis court.

Hi Hooded Claw,

I must agree you are in for a treat, as you can read, we all think kalkan in lovely. So after reading your post and the fact that you have been coming to Turkey for years, you will of stayed at quite a few different resorts / towns / villages, we would love you to write a report / review on Kalkan and how it compares with the other places you have visited in Turkey.......Thanks   :-* :)

As you are no doubt a regular, which restaurant would you recommend for our first night in Kalkan (after that we will do our own research!)

Thanks in advance.

Kalamar Hotel is one the first in the area, gone through a very detailed renovation in 2007 if i''m not wrong and just a couple of mins away to the Kalamar Beach Club which is highly recommended.

The only thing you would be concerned about it might be the swimming pool. It''s a small one as far as i know.

The Hotel Manager is a great friend of ours; Kader will be more than happy to wellcome you..
