Affordable art?
« on: May 03, 2009, 08:12:01 PM »
Hello all,

I''d really like to buy a picture (even a print would be fine) when we''re in Kalkan - preferably of local scenes, etc, but without paying hundred of pounds.  I know a good framers locally, so would get that done back at home, just want to buy an affordable picture while we''re out there.

What are my chances?

Cheers, Claire.

We saw some lovely pieces at Gallery Sarpoden when we were last there. Slightly different but there is also some great glassware in Kalkan

Definitely agree with Gallery Sarpedon which is under the Pirat Hotel on the Harbour.  I''ve bought a few pieces from there myself over the years (before I discovered the Koseleci Gift Shop with all that lovely jewellery  :D), including 2 black and white photographs of how Kalkan looked 30 odd years ago - what a difference!

Many thanks.  Will leave a bit of space in the suitcase, just in case I find something!

Cheers, Claire.
