Swine Flu Epidemic
« on: April 30, 2009, 10:12:22 AM »
My only worry is that the borders will be closed with no flights out of the uk to countries that do not have it ie. Turkey and I may not get to Kalkan in two weeks time. I won''t worry if I can''t get back. What do forum members think? Is it all being blown out of proportion? Will I make it to Kalkan?
What ever happened to SARS & Bird Flu?

"ISTANBUL (Reuters) - A patient who died at a Turkish hospital was not a victim of swine flu, a hospital spokeswoman told Reuters on Monday, denying a media report.

Broadcaster CNN Turk had earlier said a suspected victim of swine flu had died at the Akdeniz Hospital in the southern Turkish province of Antalya.

The patient at the hospital had displayed symptoms of the illness after being taken there on Sunday and had died on Monday, the broadcaster had said.

There have been no confirmed cases in Turkey of the illness, which has brought much of public life to a standstill in Mexico.

But new cases of the H1N1 virus, which mixes swine, avian and human flu strains, are still appearing across the world, keeping alive fears of a possible pandemic."

Seems that the avian flu hasn''t gone away ... it''s just waiting to get together with the swine and human flues and gang up on us big style!  :o
