Window and door locks??
« on: April 11, 2009, 06:03:29 PM »
Where can we buy good window locks in Kalkan please?? I have been meaning to do this each time we visit and never got round to it.

My friends apartment has a great system using a bolt that slides into the lock which comes together when the window meets the frame and likewise when the door meets the frame. Small and very effective. Sorry for the poor description but if you recognise this type of lock does anyone know where to buy them in Kalkan??

thanks

Thanks Blue Lizard checked in the local B and Q Superstore today nothing like it. Just wondered what is the best hardware store to try in Kalkan or even Kas.

I''ve just been looking on the new Kalkan/Turkish Local news site today and they give the names of lots of local hardware/paint/electrical etc etc etc stores, so that might help you. This is the link  www.turkishlocalnews.com

Look in the business directory under the tradesman heading.  There are a couple of ironmongers listed there, assuming they stock the same things as our UK hardware/ironmonger stores do, would have thought these would be the best bet?

There are a few builders'' merchants in Kalkan which should have what you want; 2 of them are within 200m of the main roundabout, one towards Kas and the other towards the bus terminal. Failing that, Goksular in Fethiye is a large hardware store that stocks everything you''re likely to need and there are helpful staff who speak reasonable English. Shop has a red, white & silver(?) front and is about 200m on LHS after the Oludeniz roundabout/traffic lights.

Unfortunately it is no longer a Citroen showroom; they ceased trading about a month ago.
