Cheap and easy airport transfers

I booked on line with transfers4u.com for a transfer from Dalaman Airport to Kalkan and it went extremely well and only cost £14.12.  I was a bit worried that there might be a problem as my plane was delayed for 2 hours and I hadn''t been given a uk telephone number so that I could let them know.  However, it was all very straightforward and there was someone waiting for me and I was transferred with absolutely no problem.  We did have to wait for 20 minutes or so at the airport but that was only because someone else had booked who was a ''no show''.  I travelled alone direct to my apartment in a modern and clean small bus with a helpful driver who carried my luggage to the front door for me.  I highly recommend this company.

It seems like all of us who have used them can''t praise them highly enough!  I too was very pleased with the excellent service they provided. Were you able to get a transfer just one way or did you booked a return?

It certainly seems a great deal for 1 or 2 people, even with a taxi at the Kalkan end to your accommodation it is a considerable saving. It becomes less good value for 3 or more people.

Yes, I just booked one way.  I was having a bit of a problem with their on line form so I telephoned.  In a matter of minutes my ticket was emailed to me.

I hope everybody supports this service as I would hate to see it go because not enough people were using it.

Thanks Butterfly - that''s really helpful to know.  I shall certainly continue to use them - unless you can share a transfer they are by far the best option for single travellers.

I agree, i travel to Kalkan on my own and always use the bus transfers.  To be honest, i havent actually used transfers4u, but ive used other companies, but i do think that they use the same services anyway, as there are a few companies whose name u see when u go to the bus pick up.  In fact when i used to go to Calis, i always got a private car going back to Dalaman airport which was great.  But i think i will have a look at transfers4u.

I''ve hit a snag with Transfers4U.  When I came out, I didn''t have a return ticket so I didn''t book a return transfer.  I want to book one now but Transfers4U tell me that their Turkish agents won''t allow them to book from abroad back to the UK; you can only do it when you book to fly out from the UK.

I''d be grateful if anyone has any suggestions to save me the taxi fare.  Of course, I''ll post my transfer on the Forum too in the hope that somebody here is taking the same plane as me

I would be interested in booking with transfers4u, my son and his girlfriend are coming to Kalkan in August and as they are both students will want to limit costs as much as possible. Does the coach stop at other resorts or drive direct to Kalkan? How long did it take?

It will be dependent on the bookings they receive, there is no published route

On my recent visit to Kalkan in Feb we diverted to Calis Beach each way - no big deal & overall only took an additional 30/45mins above a private taxi.  However in Agusust it''s likely there may be additional stops.

It''s a money vs. time/effort decision & it''s each to their own....  (but my transfers in May cost me £26.86 return so the money won again !!!)

I understand it''s currently not possible to book oneway Kalkan/Dalaman - however you could try contacting their ground agents directly - I believe it''s Yesil Dalyan.

If you go to flythomascook.com there is a link at extras for transfers. this link is transfers4u.com, there web address is also on the page. Or you can book a return at anytime or there is a yesil dalyan rep based in kalkan who can help you when you are here,

I believe another company a2btransfers.com also do a shared Dalaman- Kalkan transfer for £14.40 per person each way. I haven''t used them but for 1 or 2 people they seem so much better value than a private taxi, even allowing for a possibly longer transfer. The money saved will buy quite a few Efes.

Thanks everyone for all the information.

Next time I book, I''ll see whether I can book an open return.  When I rang their UK office, Transfers4U did help me by selling me another return ticket with the outgoing section showing me as a ''no show'' but, of course, I had to pay a return fare but that was still cheaper than a taxi.

I''ll investigate the other companies that you mention.
