Shoe Lovers
« on: March 08, 2009, 10:53:29 AM »
To all you shoe lovers out there, where is the best place to buy them in Kalkan? We have bought a couple of pairs of sandals from a shop near Merkez which have been really good but where else is there? Are the ones from the market any good ?

Thanks

Julie x

I think most of the shoes market or shops are stuck in a bit of an 80''s time warp  :) :)

My partner has bought several pairs of smart shoes to wear to work with his suits - excellent quality, lovely soft leather and, so I''m told, very comfortable.  He gets them at the first shoe stall on the left hand side as you go into the weekly market.  They only go up to size 10, so if your man has large feet, you''re out of luck...or maybe not?  >:D :o    Sadly (but good for the wallet) I''ve never seen a pair that even remotely tempted me!  Too gold, sparkly and dated...

I agree - the womens shoes in general leave A LOT to be desired.  However the mens sandals and particularly the all leather shoes - my husband finds to be fantastic value and so very comfortable.  These shoes are the only ones that he has ever been able to wear without socks  :o

Cheers!

i bought trainers from the market...looked good but wern''t!!   i also saw a rather fetching pair of bright orange rubber clogs!!...ideal for bouncing down the hills?but in that heat they would sound like little trombones when your feet get hot!! ;D ;D ::)

I think shoes are really disappointing, especially as other leather goods are so nice. I''ve looked in Fethiye as well and been underwhelmed.

My favourite bag shop ~(Linda & Ertan) opposite Merkez started selling shoes last May, good designs, but unfortunatley for the taller ladies with larger feet, she only goes up to size 40 :(

I know the shop but who in their right mind would pay £200 - £300 pounds for a fake bag no matter how good the quality its still a FAKE !!!!

Sorry, ladies shoes are a bit of a no-no in Turkey...have to agree with Misty they are stuck in an 80''s timewarp - which may mean they are about to be ultra trendy any day soon ;D
The men''s Prada(not) flip flops are quite good though from the market and for a better class of fake hermes birkin, it has to be the bag shop in Fethiye. Considering it''s a couple of thousand pounds to buy a real one and they are probably made in the same factory, I''d happily pay £200. You can''t beat the quality and only you know it''s not real.
Better to keep your mouth shut and appear stupid than to open it and remove all doubt :)

You''re right BL...no matter how big the bag, it''s always overflowing with a few essentials and a pile of rubbish that I can''t get round to clearing. But my ams are wonderfully toned  ;D ;D

Ha ha !  ;D I did make the mistake of buying a pair of fake crocs for our trip to the Saklikent Gorge last year what a nightmare that was. Everytime I tried to climb over the rocks I slipped off. I spent most of the time on my backside was very sore the next day  ::)
