Dere development

We''ve booked an apartment in the Dere Development (shares a pool with 5 other apts).  Looks pretty fab, but it''s not a part of Kalkan we came across last year (our first two visits).  Can anyone give me some more info about it?

You''ve made a great choice. The Dere development (also known as Old Town development) is a select range of apartments and villas which are located only a genuine few minutes walk from Olive Garden and Merkez (or Kaptans in the other direction). We have the penthouse apartment there and in addition to being extremely central you get fantastic views out towards mouse and snake island. You can get to the development either by walking up the stairs next at Merkez/Olive Garden, past Iso''s and up to your left. Alternatively you can walk by Adda furniture shop and Adda Tours and it is opposite the latter on your right. Have a great time. Hope this helps.

Hi Misty

There''s no single link to the development - just various apartments and villas separately advertised on the usual sites (we always use holidaylettings and ownersdirect).  The giveaway line is "2 -3 minute stroll to centre of village/harbour".  The apartment we''re renting is called "neyla" - looks just gorgeous and the owners have been excellent to deal with.

We stayed in the Sahane penthouse in the Dere development and it was fantastic, great being so close to everything while still having the most stunning views.    We''ll be going back and I''d recommend them to others.
