Boat hire

Hello, I''m new on the forum. My name is Clare Lemon. Does anyone know if you can hire a boat to go from Kalkan to Side? and how long it might take?

Thanks for the welcome Jon. My brother, Kalamar Dream, aka KD, is also a member. Its great to have such a forum to keep in contact with others in Kalkan, and to share tips, etc. Looking forward to reading all the threads. And hope I can be useful at some time!

Hi Clare and welcome! 

I dont know the actual answer but my guess is that there is not a simple way of getting a boat from kalkan to Side and even if there were - my guess it would take more than a week - maybe even 2 to get there....it is a long way by car never mind by boat...I guess if you have all the time in the world - there must be somebody willing to hire you a boat...!!!

Yes, sounds about right, I suppose its best to ask at the harbour when I''m next there. When I find out I will share it with you all. I know that its about £90 to hire a boat for the day, with a captain, so would probably be too expensive anyway. On a slightly different note, I do want to hire one of those little two seaters with a little engine and pootle around the coves, ah bliss.

Do you know if you can hire an automatic car in Kalkan? Might be best to post this question separately.
