Eating out in Klakan
« on: January 01, 2009, 09:19:14 PM »
Travellling to Kalkan for the first time this coming July. How much does it cost to eat out at night? For example, what is the average cost of a main course in a restaurant and how much is an average bottle of wine?

Welcome to the forum - I hope you gain lots of useful information from it - do shout if there is anything else you want to know!

In short - an average bottle of Angora would be 20-25 ytl and an average main course can be from a few lira to a lot of lira - depending on where you go!  Sorry - not being unhelpful - but as there are over 100 lovely Kalkan restaurant - it is nigh on impossible to give an average price!

Definitely suggest you look through the former thread as Blue Lizard advises!

Cheers!

Welcome to our world.  First things first, are you a fan of comics or of the Pride of North London?
As has already been said, the choice of eateries is immense, as is the range of prices, but the range of quality is a narrow one, mainly very high.  Enjoy and COYS!

Despite all the moaners on the Forum eating out is still good value for money when you take in the whole ambiance of the restaurant.

Hotspur57 is that the pride of north London languishing in the bottom of the Premier League LOL

Hi Misty
Who are all these moaners you refer to and what do they moan about??
Probably the fact that Kalkan restaurant''s prices don''t reflect Turkish norms-just Kalkan''s
Will be interesting to see if they increase prices again this season or what restaurant changes occur

The usual wingers that moan about everything from day one.....from the price of Taxi''s, drinks, meals etc etc. We all agree that Kalkan is not the cheapest place to visit in Turkey but I still think its well worth the slight up lift !!!!!

 ;) ;) ;)

Oh I think there are whingers but I was also referring to Brits in general and uplift was a reference to pricing in Kalkan.

Hope that clears that one up  :) :) :)

Yes I agree, it''s definately worth paying the high prices for taxis, food, accomodation in kalkan because it is such a ''special'' place
never buy a house anywhere without an independent surveyors report

Hi Kim
It''s not such a great deal paying these high prices if you actually live here 24/7 - for a fortnight - not a problem maybe - but otherwise :(
