Hi there,
Have tried, in the interests of research most of what is available over the last 8 years. Still reckon Angora is the best white for the money and their red is as good as any. Tried a very good red at Samira''s Turkish Night. I then found out we had paid 40YTL for it. Have a good holiday

Angora red and white does it for me -not the best in the world - but not the worst either and not a bad price..!!  Cankaya white also good - but I prefer Angora!

Serefe!  ;D

I think the Dikmen red is one of the best but would agree that Angora is probably best for white wine.

Cankaya white, Lal rose & Yakut red are all very drinkable. Dikmen is an okay plonk, as Kavak is for white. I find Angora white too acidic, although the red is good. The Kavaklidere Narince is nice, as is the Ancyra Red. Villa Doluca is okThe Kayra brand has a good rose- sorry can''t remember name but has a tag on bottle (like a gift tag). As for sparkling....best avoided, nothing even touches a Cava, let alone Champagne!

A number of the restaurants (Trio, Alternatif to name a couple) also carry wine that isn''t included in their menu.  If you are having a special meal and don''t mind paying a bit more they will happily oblige.

Thank you very much for your suggestions - we will try them all - in the interests of research of course and if we discover any labels not mentioned that are worth drinking I will let you know on our return.

The house wines in Coast are excellent and come served in beautiful decanters with lovely wine glasses.  All helps in my psychy of enjoying wine of not the best quality.....but a good wine glass makes the difference of the whole wine experience.......

I''ll be there next week to test them all!!!
