Lizo Pensions
« on: June 21, 2008, 04:09:10 PM »
Hi all

I promised a report when we returned, and all i can say is that if you were thinking of booking to go to the Lizo, then DO NOT HESITATE!!!

I can thoroughly recommend this place - from the moment your taxi pulls up, to the moment it pulls away at the end of your holiday, you will have a fabulous time.

Ali and Sarah cannot do enough for you, and "Mamma''s" cooking is just to die for. Even "Dad''s" BBQ''s are brilliant.

The rooms are basic, but spotless, and the towels and linen are changed far more often than anywhere else i have ever stayed.

I would recommend it without a doubt, but please don''t tell too many people, as they are already fully booked for September when we were hoping to return.

Go, and enjoy!

Jane

Is this the same as the Lizo restaurznt/cafe recommended on the kalamar road? Fly in to stay in Islamar tomorrow  and listed the lizo to try for a meal. 2nd trip to kalkan as last year didn''t have enough time to try all the eateries!

Thanks for the report Jane this is very pleasing to read as we have never been to Kalkan before but have visited Turkey for the past 6 years and recently just my husband and myself twice a year, we were looking for somewhere different, after Icmeler, Kusadasi & Hisaronu etc .We had picked the hotel purley by chance , (hand''nt come accross this web site at the time), it sounds terrific and cant wait until we go in August. :) Thanks again

I think that i should add a bit of balance here.  I have recently stayed at the Lizo, and have to disagree with the review.  It is no doubt fine if you are a returning guest, or one of the "in crowd", but if you fall outside of this, the Lizo leaves a lot to be desired.  I found the rooms scruffy and uncomfortable, and we were treated with some hostility by Ali, although Sarah was lovely.  I hope that you all had a good holiday there, but for me i had a good holiday despite the Lizo, not because of it.
