Alternatif Restaurant - even better!!

Just back from a short visit to Kalkan for my birthday and had a fab time as usual !!

We have always enjoyed dining in the Alternatif Restaurant but with the new decor and new chef it is even nicer.

My partner is a steak connoisseur and must have had eaten steak in about 60% of the restaurants in Kalkan but still swears that the steaks in Aternatif are the best he has ever tasted. A new edition to the menu is the fruit pavlova which makes a really nice change for the usual Turkish desserts that are served in most restaurants.

For my birthday, Mustafa had personally made a ''huge'' fruit pavlova, complete with fire works display, which was a really nice touch. 

Mustafa & Erhan (spelling ) are the perfect hosts and make everyone feel so welcome.

I have to agree with you Collsmac. We celebrated my sons 14th Birthday @ Alternatif last week and had a truly fantastic time.
Mustafa arranged a delicious birthday cake complete with fireworks for my son and hope that you can tell from the photos I have posted in the members gallery that he was "made up" with his birthday celebrations.
I agree that the steaks are very good, as was their special "Turkish Mousakka".
We had such a brilliant meal and time at Alternatif that I am considering celebrating my October birthday there when we are back in Kalkan in August!!!!

Nice of you to remember...I''ve got it now we havent tried that one yet but in August we plan to try some other restaurants rather than the usal suspects, as nice as they are Im sure will be in all of them as well LOL.

Hi Misty,  I''ve not had it in any other restaurant, but if you like spicy food try the Chilli Samosa starter at the Alternatif; unbeatable.

Mustafa did a lovely birthday party for my little girls 2nd birthday it was lovely and I would also recommend the Steak!! The new chef is excellent and a credit to the restaurant...

From the photo on the Alternatif Atlantis website, I would suggest that they are NOT the same.  Directions to the Alternatif restaurant are above.  Please don''t sue me if my attempt to help is inadequate.

Alternatif Atlantis is on the Kalamar Road just before the roundabout.  The Alternatif is in the centre of the village near to Daphnes as mentioned above.

Alternatif and Atlantis are both owned by Mustafa Akdeniz, that''s why probably why Atlantis is on his Alternatif web sight.
Can`t go wrong with either.

Sorry but I need to correct you here - Atlantis is not owned by Mustafa, it is owned by Ozcan Turk.  He and Mustafa WERE partners but Ozcan bought Mustafa out.

Sorry did`t know that. Has Ozcan bought the building or just taken over the lease? Does`t really matter, both are good.
