Has anyone tried the EK Toolbar?
« on: May 27, 2008, 10:10:15 PM »
Hi,

Thought I would create a quick thread about the new EK Toolbar...... just wondered if anyone had given it a try and what you think.

Cheers

Jon

I put it on this afternoon.  It seems a good shortcut.  Like the countdown bar, I tried the ticker one a couple of months ago but it made my computer crash!

Tickerfactory.com - though I do have Windows Vista and it does tend to throw up a lot of "wouldn''t do this if I were you" stuff as the windows defender seems very highly strung!  When I spoke with one of the lads in our IT team at work he said he wouldn''t touch vista with a bargepole as it was far too sensitive.  ???

Jon, I think you do a wonderful job here & I could not begin to do any thing like it myself. But there are in the region of 30 different boards here, before you get down to individual threads & I am finding it harder & harder to keep up with what is going on - the only way I can mange is by clicking on the ''show all unread posts since your last visit'' link when I log on. I am finding the forum somewhat unwieldy to navigate - less is more & size does not matter - in a forum:D.

I so hope that you can take this as constructive criticism & not a moan.

Sally xxxx

Sally - I too only use the ''Show all unread posts...'' - for me - that is the only quick and easy way of seeing the latest information and I must say (what an admission...!!  ;D ;D) that I use very little else... I also have Windows Vista and HATE downloading anything - so haven''t touched the toolbar..!!  ;)

I downloaded it yesterday, I like the fact that there is an indicator for latest posts, also the weather forecast, exchange rate and news. Very good.

Yes Dalaman is the closest location on the toolbar but I am working on linking it to the current EK weather forecast which is the most accurate around at the moment  :D

I''ve just got a new computer with Vista which I''m still getting to grips with but downloaded the toolbar. Could''ve sworn yesterday that the current rate of exchange was there but can''t see it today, and the weather is showing as the current in London. How do I change it to Kalkan/Dalaman? The Translate button may be handy.

Installed the toolbar onto Firefox running under XP, no problems.

Saw the weather indicator, was somewhat dismayed to see 18c and raining! Then twigged that it had defaulted the location to Geneva, so have now changed it to Antalya. Feels much better already. Only two months to go then I can check for myself...

Hi Littlelin,

The exchange rate is under the LATEST tab at the top, it updates as and when the rate changes, so dont be suprised if it is the same during a weekend.

The weather defaults to your current location, to change it just click it and select "change location" I have mine set to Dalaman at the moment  :D

A "Safari OSX" version is in the works however, in the meantime, if you install Firefox for Macintosh from www.getfirefox.com you can then install a Firefox version of the toolbar for Macintosh from www.enjoykalkan.com/toolbar

Ive tested it and it works a dream on Mac  :D
