Hi Joyce - welcome to the forum - and the answer is yes - lots of hairdressers - I think this subject has been covered before - so if you do a search - you should find details....from memory - one called Diana''s springs to mind but there are others and I have no occasion to use one....very short white hair  - no need to experience these personally.!!   ;)  happy hunting and enjoy your time in Kalkan!

There are a number of excellent hairdressers in the villages, offering, cut, colour, highlights, blow dry, beauty treatments, eyebrow shaping, waxing, manicure and pedicure. The standards are very good and most Turkish ladies regard a regular visit to the hairdresser as an essential part of their beauty routine. Prices are far more reasonable than the UK. Last week I had a cut, colour, blow dry, manicure and pedicure and the total price was £30.00.  I go weekly here and and enjoy the opportunity to relax and be pampered.

I agree with Lantana, I no longer have a haircut before going on holiday, but wait until I get to Kalkan. Much cheaper, a better cut and a massage as well.

Are they open as late as the barber shops??? Do you need to make an appointment or can I just walk in and ask if they can do something with the mess that my hair becomes the minute I go anywhere with an ounce of humidity :)?
Better to keep your mouth shut and appear stupid than to open it and remove all doubt :)

The one I go to advertises itself as a ''Unisex'' although it''s really a barbers but as I''m with hubby who cares. Last year we paid 30ytl for both of us cut, blow dry and massage and a previous time one of them did offer to colour my hair for 30ytl. A real bargain, and yes they''re open until late.
