Looks like there is soon to be a new competitor to the likes of Holiday Lettings and Owners Direct LINK.
Their ethos is for renters to deal directly with owners for a one off annual fee and no "service" charge.
Sound familiar!
Should be good for both owners and renters.

They are only currently listing properties in the UK. Looks like a great idea though - if they have the funding to get through the first two or three years until they reach critical mass. Fingers crossed!

Yes Martyn, UK at the moment, but I've had an email back from them saying that they are planning to launch their European site in around 4 weeks time.
