Hi we are returning to Kalkan in June and I was wondering which bars will be showing The World Cup, especially the England matches.

All the bars with TVs will be showing the games: Yali, Kleo, Utopia, Parc Kalkan to name a few.

COME ON BRAZIL !!I really hope England does well and I am sure we will........but it would be fantastic for the host nation to win it......they have a pretty good track record over the years.

I will make sure I don't go anywhere near a bar with football on. Can think of nothing worse on holiday, however I don't think we will be in Kalkan when the World Cup is on, for which I am eternally grateful. In saying that the only match I might watch would be the final if England were in it.

I do have a slight confession football isn't really for me and I will just about stand to watch England, but unfortunately I'm in the minority in our group so I will have to endure it.  However i do want England to win and I don't mind doing the leg work for my friends, but the one thing I won't tolerate is if they all decide to watch Togo vs Outer Mongolia i just might have to have an opinion about that one, lol.

I have no problem with people watching football, I would just rather they did it out of the way of public space, sadly it's just another area where bars will compete for bums on seats so there is a fair chance they'll be pumping up the volume and trying to outdo each other on size of screen. We are there at the time in June, I sincerely hope we will be able to enjoy some relaxing evenings with good food and gentle ambiance, we'll then disappear up the hill to our villa to relax with our nightcaps on the roof terrace looking back down on the town and bay . . . . . in blissful peace!
Be more concerned with your character than your reputation, because your character is what you really are, while your reputation is merely what others think you are.

My BH is Welsh so watches England under duress..... ;D. Everyone hoping to watch England in Kalkan needs to be aware that the first game is a 1am kick-off (11pm BST)- how that will work with the no loud noise outside after midnight rules will be interesting....? The following two matches are at the slightly more user friendly kick-off times of 10pm and 7pm Kalkan-time.
Better to keep your mouth shut and appear stupid than to open it and remove all doubt :)

I have to agree with headroom on this subject! But I accept that people want to watch big sporting events so bars will compete.......but would like it not to intrude on the peace for everyone else. Not in Kalkan during the World Cup so I'll have the option of avoiding it if I want to!

We have only ever watched world cup rugby in Kalkan, there was a great atmosphere at these matches, respectful and not too noisy.  We hope the football will be the same! :)
