New e-visa, efficiency measure or stealth tax rise?

Don't forget that from 10 April 2014, you will not be able to get your 90/180 day entry visa at the airport, only online. Whilst this is ok for the majority of us who are able to get online with a reasonable connection speed, there are still those who have no computer or, have dial-up.
The cost is $20 U.S. for holders of a UK passport. (This equates to a 25% increase at an exchange rate of $1.6 U.S. to £1.)
I'm saddened that my saving of £10 per year, over the old visa system, has been eroded already.

First I'd heard about it being compulsory...also found the article on KTLN and saved the link to my favourites so I can pay nearer time...I suppose it will save lineing up twice and we will just be in a bigger passport line

Don't forget also the Non-Sterling fee we'll be charged by our banks/credit card companies. Why can't we pay in GBP?

Mind you it's still a lot cheaper than visitors coming to UK.
