Close Season
« on: October 25, 2013, 08:30:26 PM »
So as Kalkan winds down for the season, KTLN has published a useful guide as to what will still be open during the close season. I'm just wondering which members will stick around on the forum during this time? I'm in....as per. Who else?

Better to keep your mouth shut and appear stupid than to open it and remove all doubt :)

Always watch the forum don't always comment. Although at the moment Trip adviser and the stupid comments on there are winding me up.

Count me in! I'll be checking the forum daily and contributing when appropriate. Also out with better half for her first end of season close down. (early Nov) washing all the lounger covers, shading, curtains, repairing/staining sunloungers etc.. then on to Istanbul for the weekend, our silver wedding treat.. (we discovered Turkey and Kalkan on our honeymoon in 1988). Depending on the projects we decide to do at the villa I will be back over the 'closed' season (any excuse!) and will blog if appropriate.
I have a very responsible position...
When anything goes wrong I’m responsible!!

I always check in to KTLN & EK, sad I know but can't help it  :)

We are going to be in kalkan out of season for weeks / months at a time.....is there any / enough interest in me posting 'up to date' weather reports ?  I did them last year and they seemed to be quite popular.
Latest weather report...... Large outbreaks of Efes followed by intermitent spells of vodka and tonic ;-))

I'll be checking in every day - need my Kalkan fix  - it is an addiction, isn't it!  It'd be fab it there could be a "Kalkan out of season" thread that you lucky folk living there could post on occasionally....updates on weather, construction...anything really

We always visit Kalkan in May but next year it will be much later in the year. When is it "officially" end of the season? Late September - early October???

A Kalkan out of season thread would be perfect..... What a good idea Rachey!! :)
Yes Onelove, your weather reports are most welcome.......all very well for you to look out of the window KC but we appreciate knowing how things are..... ;) :)
It goes so quiet on here during the winter I appreciate any news from abroad....! We have a
lovely expensive celebration holiday booked in January but all I can think about is spending most of June in Kalkan. Very sad, I know.......! ::)

Official end of season is end of Oct, just because Dalaman International all but closes early Nov and the 'building season' starts Nov 1st. Sept/Oct are great times to visit Kalkan.

I will be there too during the winter, even if hiding under my shell a lot of the time and not actually posting.   My morning glass of juice is accompanied by a quick look at KTLN and EK Forum.  Keeps me up to date as well as looking forward to the next Kalkan visit.

I keep looking at the gallery too.   Hope to see some new pictures soon.  Any new people out there who don't look at the gallery I do encourage them to do so.  Lots of great pictures from forum members.

I'll be here all winter.  It must be love as I think about Kalkan all the time.  To read about what is going on over the winter will be great.  Then I will know what to expect when I arrive 2nd May.
