Can anyone reccommend a company for boat trips?
« on: July 22, 2013, 05:13:56 PM »
no t long now until we come to Kalkan for the first time only just over 2 weeks to go

whilst there we would like to do a boat trip can anyone recommend which trip to do and who to go with?
can you book online?
I have a son who is 17 and has learning disability and he loves swimming and boat trips is there anything else that we can do in the area with him?

any other advise is most welcome
we are staying at the Kalkan dream hotel if that helps
Many Thanks Tessa

Hi TessaG hope you have a great time, I would say I think all of the boats would be suitable for you and your son as all the captains are so helpful and friendly, however I have to say last year we went on Sunset 2 and one of our party was suffering with seasickness very badly and captain Ali was absolutely magnificent with her he was so kind and helpful, he even helped her swim ashore at one of the stops so she could get her legs back on (so to speak) so their boat would be very suitable for you but as I say all of them make for a wonderful day out and always helpful. i hope you find something suitable and have a wonderful holiday.

Hi Tessa, not long to go now. We arrive 2 weeks on Friday and are counting down the days in earnest!
Well you'll be spoilt for choice re boat trips! It depends on what kind of a trip you want I've quiet and restful or more lively style. If you want a lively trip that's not as intimate, go for the sea Bella, it's a large boat and lots of fun by all accounts, but we've never been on it so I can't really comment. We prefer a smaller boat and have been on yildiz, piña x and piña x1.  This year we have pre booked a trip on anil boat and are doing a private hire with friends. We have also pre booked a trip to kekova with adda tours, again with friends. I can heartily recommend all of the boats we have been on and have tended to book again with the same ones as we know they are fantastic, but to be honest, they are probably all up to the same standard.
If you are in Kalkan for 2 weeks, you probably don't need to book ahead, unless there is a particular one you really want to go on) Just go down to the harbour on your first couple of nights (after 6 ish) and you will see all the boats and their captains who will happily show you around and give you info re where they sail (all do a similar route ) and what yummy delights they will serve you to eat.
If you do a search on the forum and enter key words like boat trips or yildiz for example, you will find tons of information.
You will have a fantastic time whichever boat you choose.

Hi Tessa, some do and some don't, to be honest we've always taken pot luck but if you speak to the captain when you book the trip, they will usually run through the menu and you can always put a special request in and I'm sure they will accommodate you. The food on the boats we've experienced so far had been exceptional.   :)

Hi Tessa,

Welcome to Turkey.

I can highly recommend you to hire your own boat instead of sharing it with many other people.

There many options for boat trips around Kaş and Kalkan area. I can highly suggest you to visit sunken city of Kekova. You can do a google search and see details.

If you need any information please feel free to ask me.

Kindest regards
