We have a new 1st place , Mussakka . The best food I have had here in the two years we have been coming.
Very close to Doy doys but the music , atmosphere and friendly staff just piped the post . I had paella which was beautiful .

One of our favourites to field agent Lynne.......well done for tracking down this little piece of heaven.....apparently my husband says it does the best steaks!

Thanks Babs , after the steak in the small house we did not risk it ( when in Rome as they say)
But my husband was eyeing up the next tables steak and was quite sad .

I absolutely adore the chicken liver starter at mussakka, it's the best I've ever had in my life. I sometimes think I'll ask if I can have this as a main course with some rice and veg but have never had the nerve to yet! If you go again and like creamy chicken livers, you MUST try it. The Moroccan lamb is also beautiful and the steaks are really tender. They do child portions of filet steak and our youngest always chooses that but she's growing fast and I think that I can no longer fob her off with a child size portion!

Our daughter has just had a week at our apartment with some friends and on the last night didn't want to venture back down to the harbour to eat so the decided to go to Kaptain's Bar on Kalamar road. They said it was the worst meal by far of the hols and the staff were very rude. They had to wait 45 mins after ordering and no one came over to them at all during this time. Then they arrived with main meals and they hadn't had the starters , to which the waiters were very disgruntled and took their meals away without any apologies. After receiving their starters they then brought back the original meals that were then dried up. They tried to argue the case but to no avail. They only paid for some meals and left. Don't know if it has been taken over since last year as we found it ok and staff very friendly. But in light of their experience won't be going there this summer.

ditto re kaptains bar. we are out here 6 months of the year and it was our worst ever meal in 15 years!

Our top ten changes slightly every year, but there are a few that have stayed there or thereabouts for several years now. This year(so far) it's:

Mussakka
Olive Garden
Kalamaki
Gourmet
White Table
Kaya
Fener
Trio
Hunkar
Rainbow

But while doing this list I realised it's silly trying to number them, as we actually like them all as much, but for different reasons. And the list doesn't actually end there.... we also love Cafe Leon, Omar's Kitchen, Cafe Ev, and many more.  We even like Pasaport Pizza for what it is.

All in all...who actually cares what other people think? The only way you can get your own favourites list is to try lots... we put it down to research... it's a tough job but someone's gotta do it...
