« on: May 30, 2013, 08:25:48 AM »
Hi
I am thinking of visiting in August with my 17 year old son and he loves the waterpark
Where would the nearest one be and would there be any trips
My son has autism and learning difficulties so I need to take him on a few trips as we are there for 2 weeks
Does anyone have any recommendations

hello....someone may come along and be able to tell you where the nearest water park is but there are beach clubs, Kalamar has pedaloes, kayaks and a trampoline free and then various watersports and rides you pay extra for. You can go canoeing down the river to Patara beach for a day out, jeep safaris including a visit to Saklikent gorge where you can also go tubing down the river.......boat trips with lots of swimming, snorkelling stops......lots to do for teenagers.....hope that helps

As far as I know, the nearest one is is Calis Beach which is about an hour away, but it doesn't look very big and maybe more suited to younger children.

Have a look at the website and see what you think http://www.sultansaquacity.com/

Currently have a duplex apartment in Kiziltas which we visit as often as we can.

There is a good water slide at Kalkan park beach, situated the other side of Kisla. You can get a free water taxi across there from the harbour. There is also a beach/water slide on the way to Kas on the right hand side,a few miles out of Kalkan....not sure of its name. The nearest proper water park possibly may be Olu Deniz, though i am not 100% sure they have one.It is approx 1and a half hours drive from Kalkan.

Me again.............i think after looking on trip advisor that Challis is your nearest bet. However people say there is no shade and you will be bored after 30 minutes. If you stay at Lykia world in Olu Deniz, they have a water park just for guests only.

Try the one just outside Kas - its not a waterpark as we woud know it but some slides and its quite close by - just a short dolmus ride away from Kalkan....and a change of scenery :) The one in Lykia World is definitely not open to the public - we've stayed there so I know.
In terms of beach clubs, Kalamar Beach Club would be ideal - as Babs says - there's information on this website
www.kalkanturkey.com/kalkan-beaches-beach-clubs-water-activities.htm
Also have a look on www.turkishlocalnews.com which is a valuable source of information for the first-time traveller as well as the search facility on this forum.
Hope you have a great stay :)

I think the place just before you get into Kas is for younger children.
