Early bookings

Just wondering how early the tourist season Really starts in Kalkan....ie : our earliest booking for this season is last week of April

Last year we had guests booked for Easter (early April) and they had a great time, in the unheated pool every and did everything they wanted, this year we are staying at the villa ourselves at Easter and no bookings until May, (but then more or less fully booked until Oct).

We're going 2nd week of the school holidays for a week (6th April), same time as last year. Hope the weather is clement as it was very mixed last year.

I like it in April but I think I'll leave the water hammock at home this year, unfortunately no pool facilities as it's so early in the season, but it was sooo cold last year that we are not really bothered. We will probably try the beach instead - whats the sea temperature like in April - is it worth trying a dip?

We were told by a guy who owns a villa out there that you can go in from March on - and several do, although it's probably pretty cold.  I would be tempted to have a bit of a different type of holiday, hire a car and do some exploring up in the hills and mountains.  Absolutely stunning apparently with lots of wildlife and flowers. You might even bump into Death Wish Chicken!  There's the Lycian Way with loads of ruins, Patara beach and ruins and lovely villages close by.  I have a guide book I could lend you if you like.

Hi skunk, thanks for your advice and suggestions.
We plan to hire a car for the week and do lots of exploring - we might actually get chance to look round some ancient sites this time as its been far too hot to explore much in the heat of summer.
To be honest I'm looking forward to chilling out with a good book and a glass or 3 of wine and of course eating some delicious food!
The knees are still old unfortunately, about 30 yrs in advance of my actual age, but are bearing up thank goodness! Hope you've got the spring in your step back now.

You will have a great time I am sure, just very jealous that we aren't going to be there too. And agree it will be a perfect time of year to explore all the places that it is very difficult to do in the searing heat of July/August.
