Christmas / New Year
« on: October 08, 2011, 12:30:27 PM »
For the first time in seven years, we have decided to spend Christmas & New Year in Kalkan this year! It will be great to spend some chilled out time there without having to worry about apartment maintenance issues, etc...

Anybody else going to be there? Any meet-ups planned, etc?

Cheers

Martyn

Hi Martyn.
We are going across on 26th Dec for the week and have done for the past few years. It is still a great place to chill out whilst, as you say, not having the usual time pressures of property maintenance (we have 2 apts and look after others too.) Having said that though, because everywhere is still open, it is also a good time for getting those niggly things done that always go by the wayside as time runs out on our summer visits.
Have a great time

Hi Pam

We are coming out on the 24th Dec and returning on 2nd Jan, so yep let's meet up! I don't suppose there will be any music nights at the Nur - unless Baris and I do an impromptu one of course! - but let's liaise nearer the time.

Kalkan Magic - know exactly what you mean... this was exactly our thinking ... our normal spring "holiday" always ends up being just maintenance chores, so it will be nice to do some of the jobs at our leisure at Xmas... take some off the pressure off in the spring, when that 1st May deadline looms so quickly! It was so easy when we only had one.. lol  ;)

We've just booked flights from East Midlands to Antalya from 28th Dec until 4th Jan.  ;D  ;D

Not been over this time of years before so really looking forward to a chilled week with plenty of good food and drink.

Currently have a duplex apartment in Kiziltas which we visit as often as we can.

You lucky people I'm so so jealous, we'll be stuck here in chilly Wales battling through the Christmas shopping crowds AGAIN >:D Must remember not to delay buying the dreaded turkey until last minute this year LOL. Never mind, our thoughts will be with you all in Kalkan while we cuddle up in front of the fire nursing a cold Efes or six.  Hope you all have a fantastic Kalkan Christmas and a very happy healthy new year, when hopefully we'll be out there again too  8)

Well, we are now back in the UK... cold, wet and windswept... but with some fabulous memories of our first Christmas & New Year in Kalkan! We had a brilliant time... totally different from summer of course but expectations were exceeded, thanks in no small part to the lovely people we met -  some for the first time, and some just renewing acquaintances :-)

Can't wait till May. And of course we still have a BIG decision to make  ;)... (those that know what we are talking about, know exactly what we are talking about).... err.... yeah...   :-\

Toodle pip!
