Hairy Bikers in Turkey
« on: June 01, 2008, 09:15:08 PM »
Not sure whether anybody is familiar with the Hairy Bikers?  Two guys on motorcycles touring the world cooking up a storm in whatever country they''re in?  They''re touring Turkey at the moment and they arrived at Mardin; nearly on the borders with Syria. They''ve just created their own Doner Kebab and cooked it and it looked gorgeous.  With the bad press on Doner''s in the UK i.e. constituent ingredients in some of them, I tend to avoid them over here. If I could find one that looked like the one they cooked it''d be brilliant.  Anybody any ideas about that kind of thing available in Kalkan? I''ve never noticed it.    Bill

Noticed a Doner Kebap place last week along by Baykush, it had vegetables in the meat, looked really interesting. Will try it next time we''re out and was only 3.5 ytl. There seems to be quite a few Doner Kebab places open now- last year there weren''t any.

By the way did anyone there last Thursday see the motorbike riding through the town? It was huge and all chrome, the locals couldn''t believe their eyes. Don''t know who or what it was.
