Fethiye hospital and health insurance

Hi, my wife and I are coming to Kalkan in June but she will be 34-35 weeks pregnant. Has anyone got any information/experience about the labor ward in fethiye hospital should anything happen early!

Also, we are struggling to find holiday insurance which covers a normal birth (prem is classed as 32 weeks), so does anyone know of any insurance that may cover us including repatriation (we'd rather stay in Kalkan but work says otherwise

You can get insured for any circumstances but the most likely route is a bespoke package through a broker, as opposed to a policy online, which probably wont be cheap as they will be carrying all the risks given how close to the 36 weeks cut-off point your wife will be. Certainly, if you wish to include repatriation it will have to be tailor-made for you - I dont think many insurance companies would offer that as standard.

Have no idea about insurance re pregnant ladies, we were not allowed to fly in my day but will advise that most births here are by C section on the given day. Bearing in mind the distance from Kalkan to Fethiye or even Kas now, but not sure if Kas has maternity unit, it may be as wise to attend the medical centre here  on the Kalamar Rd & seek some advice also have some emergency numbers handy eg the ambulance unless you have a car.
