Veggy Options in Kalkan
« on: June 19, 2008, 07:37:22 PM »
Hi. New member! I''m coming to Kalkan in August with my girlfriend for the first time. It looks great.

One thing we can''t find much on is options for vegetarians. My girlfriend is veggy and we would love to know about restaurants that will cater to her needs and some of the types of food on offer. I am not that familiar with Turkish food in general to be honest.

Any advice greatly appreciated!

Andy.

Andy, you will find no better country to be in for a veggie.  I am not a veggie but eat very little meat & Turkey is bliss - try the spinach bread (can''t remember it''s proper name) at the Korsan Marina for one. Amazing egg dishes, watercress in yogurt salad at the Odak, and just try a tomato or a raw carrot - you''ll be in heaven & won''t have any problems at all. I eat less meat when in Turkey than any where else I''ve ever been.

PS Try the fried cheese salad at Kalamar Bay Beach Club!!
