« on: March 04, 2008, 07:24:43 PM »
Hi again as I got some great advice on the plant pot front wondered if anyone could recommend a picture framers. We''re bringing some prints over with us at Easter. If you do know of any can you advise costs, opeing times and how long they take?

Thanks BevJam

Hi BevJam, whilst you are in Kas looking for pots, just next door to Migros there is a picture framers.  Costs will vary depending on the size of print or the frame you choose but the owner is very reasonable and has a nice choice.  They are open 7 days a week during the summer months but I am pretty sure he''ll be open Easter time too.  If I''m in Kas in the next week or so I will have a look for you.  If its one or two prints then you can drop off, have a tea, do your shopping and collect the framed print on your way home!

Hi BevJam....if you can''t get to kas then the guy on the left hand side just past the Moonlight bar who sells postcards, maps, pictures and books and loads of mavi boncuks also does framing.  I bought 2 framed pictures done by his wife and they were very reasonably priced!

Cheers!

Very interesting, we''re bringing about eight to ten but that''s a good excuse to revisit or might split the order and give business to both of them.
Thanks for the quick response

I got some UK prints framed last year by the window/double glazing manufacturers at the top of town.  Just before you turn down into Kalkan there is a wrought iron place, a lighting shop and the window place.  They did an excellent job and sooooooo cheap!

Hi bevjam,

there is an option in Kalkan,

under the Hotel Pirat is the little art shop, Sarpedon, and they do farming too, good range of frames, and lovely prints too, nothing too modern, mostly artistic Turkish stuff, old Otoman prints, dervishes etc,

hope this helps

Just to let you all know that Gallery Sarpeden, is planning to open over the easter period. As discussed in another thread it is looking like there could be a bit of activity in kalkan at this time, just hope that the weather is nice.

So pleased to hear that Gallery Sarpedon will open for Easter. With all the changes in that particular parade of shops (loss of Sandals etc) I was concerned it might not reopen. Every picture in our house comes from there and I always use it for Christmas and birthday present shopping.   Does anyone know what the opening hours will be? Will it be open every day? After a winter in Kalkan with almost no shops open, I am in need of some serious retail therapy.

Thanks to everyone for all the ideas, I''m really looking forward to bringing the prints over now and getting them put up in the apartment, a real home from home.
