Lamb/trout farm
« on: March 24, 2010, 12:54:43 PM »
When in Kalkan last year we were chatting to a couple who were raving about the best lamb they had ever eaten.  I am sure they said it was at one of the trout farms or near to one.  Has anyone any idea of wher they may have been talking about?

Can highly recommend Mahmut's Trout farm for the lamb tandir night.  From memory I think it's on a Tuesday night and they offer a free pick up service.  Absolutely wonderful food, scenery and at a very reasonable price.

We visited Chops last June, the lamb was fabulous - so good we went twice. They also do a pick up and return service, but we didn't go on a special night as I think they offer this dish every night. I think they were the first place in Islamlar to offer lamb tandir and the other restaurants followed suite when they saw how popular it was. Chops is also a Trout farm. Not sure if it's still open and there were some indifferent views later on in the season. Type "lamb tandir" into the serach facility and get a more comprehensive view.
Better to keep your mouth shut and appear stupid than to open it and remove all doubt :)
