Kalkan Restaurants
« on: August 19, 2009, 08:15:04 PM »
We've just got back from Kalkan... We didn't have one bad meal, the service was good at every restaurant and we were always made to feel welcome and appreciated. Our favourite 3 restaurants (decided by a family vote on the penultimate day!)
1. Doy Doy - Try the Doy Doy Fillet Steak or the Amaretto Chicken
2. Ilyada - The Turkmen Meat Balls are fantastic
3. Ozlap - I forget the name of the dish... 3 pieces of steak, 3 chicken, 3 meatballs, a fried egg and some yoghurt and pitta bread... fabulous

You can't go wrong and they make some great kids cocktails  :D

Where did you stay Kalkannewbies?

I think it's called Saneil Apartments, the apartment belongs to some friends, two bedrooms, air con, two bathrooms and a lovely position overlooking a fabulous swimming pool. There are only 5 blocks each with 3 apartments, a really nice place just up from the kalkan road near the exilir hotel and spa.

Thanks, thats quite near me.
Lovely to hear you enjoyed the food; I always despair when I come back to the UK, the food seems tasteless for ages.
I have been enjoying Turkish fast food this year, in particular lahmacun and adana durum! I even had them for breakfast, only about 4 or 5 lira
