Ilban Restaurant
« on: September 24, 2008, 12:39:43 PM »
Having just returned from Kalkan this restaurant deserves a mention, the food was fantastic especially the steak. It’s a little out of town next to Garanti bank and opposite Kartan supermarket. We ate there three times and every time the food was faultless, its run by an English lady and her Turkish husband, its more reasonable than places in the town, give it a go.
Oh and you get free stuff as well!

The guy who ran the original Ilban was still involved in June.  Excellent casserole dishes, but the view no match to the original.

Stopped off here after shopping in the market. Just thought we would have a beer but ended up having lunch which was very good and reasonable price. Have yet to try of an evening but I definitely will, the prices seem very reasonable and whilst we only had lunch the service was excellent. The guy on the table next to me had home made carrot cake and said it was fantastic.
It may not have the same view but if the food is good, the service excellent and the prices reasonable what more can you ask for. After all you couldn''t really admire the old view once it got dark anyway.
