Walk up from the old town over the road grills to the roundabout. Keep foing up the hill on the left hand side of the road and you will find Hunkar about 50 metres on your left (almost opposite Samira Hotel and Apartments.)

It gets very busy so don't visit at conventional eating times. You won't be disappointed. If you have a sweet tooth, you must try the Kunefe. It's sublime. Enjoy!

BTW, the way to pronounce it is Hoonkar Ochakbashar

Hi Sandancer - we visited Hunkar's on numerous occasions last year, superb every time, especially their Chicken Shish! The restaurant is actually almost opposite the greengrocers and Kaya Restaurant.

Must admit the hunkar...... one sounds appealing to me too.
 I think wherever I end up I'm going to enjoy though as Kalkan sound fab.

I know it!  Have eaten there but did not twig that it was the same place.  Always full of Turkish families.  Really enjoyed it last time so we'll be giving it a go this time as well. Thanks a lot.

Personally I would recommend, Sade, Sofra or Baharat. They are all in the Old Town and we had fantastic meal at all of them, particularly Sade and Baharat which were recommend by locals.  The Harbour is lovely but we found the food to be not as good as the Old Town and the Restaurants were busy and over-stretched which consequently impacted upon the service, but again that is my personal opinion!

Enjoy Kalkan, savour every moment and make the most of it!  We are back for our 2nd visit this Summer and can't wait
