Best places for lunch?
« on: January 28, 2010, 06:53:18 PM »
Hi, we are staying at the Lizo in June, our first time to Kalkan and can't wait!! Where are the best places for lunch, preferably kebabs or pide or even somewhere that does fresh rolls? Many thanks, Nicky.

For fantastic value and delicious food, can't fault Oz Adana. Pide, salad and many other little side dishes for the equivalent of around a couple of pounds and if it's not near where you are staying, they do a delivery service  :)

BBQ is good for kebab and pide,at the roundabout at the bottom of kalamar rd,also Oz Adana for pide,on the side st at the side of the Samira hotel, depends where you are at the time really, lots of places in the village and down at the harbour,I am sure you will find a favourite .  :)
EFES TIME AGAIN !

Also the "soup kitchen" alias Ali Babas on the st that leads into old town, cheap and cheerful, the soup is great and the locals use it so it cant be bad.

For the best fish and chips, go and see Jan and Asu at the Kucuk Ev. You'll love it!

The chicken man at the top of the village (no he isn't a chicken!) by the taxi rank roundabout is very good..you will see them spinning round on a rotisserie...very scrummy ;)

As well as the Chicken man and Oz Adana..both fab  ;D. There's Parc Kalkan which do fab salads or Kalkan Cafe Fast Food (on the roundabout near Tesko(m)) - best doner according to my BH. Or if you're fancying a bit of a stroll The Garden Cafe Bar is one of our favourites for lunch (down by the beach)...roll on May  :)

Hi Nicky, Oz Adana get our vote too! In the summer months they open the upper roof terrace too. The Pide, Kebabs and salads are wonderful and the staff really friendly. We had a wonderful (and very cheap) evening meal there up on the roof terrace. At the right time you get the most amazing "moon rise" over the mountains too. Hope you enjoy your first trip to Kalkan, no doubt it will put its spell on you as it has all of us!!!! Elaine and Cris

If you are staying at the Lizo, try their chicken sandwich for lunch.  Lizo do a very good lunch and dinner  menu and theme  nights for when you don't want to go into town. Very good atmosphere at Lizo.

Many thanks Eljhem, have you stayed at the Lizo? Really good to hear they do a nice lunch as if it's hot you don't always want to be trekking about. I've heard the theme nights and the dinners are good there, we are planning on having quite a few nights just staying at the bar there and having dinner, especially as you say it's a good atmosphere. Really looking forward to it!! Thanks again,
Nickyx

Yes the meze night is my favorite, OH likes the fish night.  Ali and Sarah are great hosts.  The breakfasts are lovely to and there is normally a great crowd staying there of all ages.  Can't wait to get back.
