Title: Nearest supermarket for provsions
Post by: AlbionFan on July 03, 2012, 08:20:18 AM
Hi

I will be staying in a villa which appears to be on or near the junction between the Sardunya SK and the Zeytinlik CD. Can someone tell me how far the nearest place is for us to get a our regular groceries?

Thanks

AF

Hi AF
I've not looked at where the villa is on a map, but try using the KTLN Kalkan Business Map.

Go to the KTLN Kalkan Business Map
http://kalkan.turkishlocalnews.com/portal/kalkan-area-map (you need to be logged in to access this area of their website).
Tick the 'Supermarkets' box.
Then you can see all the supermarkets in relation to where your accommodation is on the map.
This principle applies to lots of other areas of business in Kalkan. It's not fully up to date with recent changes though, but very useful for getting your bearings.

Thanks. I hae done that but to my dismay there are none of the supermarkets in the immediate lcation?

Rather than toil in the day sun. We will plan our routine to do a shop in the relative cool of the night on our way home after eating out.

Will this work?

Hi AlbionFan.
We usually pick up essentials on our way home after eating out and then get a taxi home. Depends on how big a shop you need to do and what time you finish your night out. I think most town supermarkets close around midnight but some of the smaller ones may close earlier.

Most will also deliver your shopping for free - Kartin and Yali do and I think more do.
There are always taxis outside Migros so it's not hard to stock up and load up a cab - i've found most supermarkets will find you a taxi if there isn't one around. simples!
