Are there any mad people who would be up for a Kalkan Challenge for 2007? In an earlier post under ''hobbies'' I said how I fancied doing something completely different and mentioned a bungy jump or a Sahara challenge, with a ''Team Kalkan''! All monies raised going to Lantana''s fund. Jon thinks it''s a great idea, but not sure how practical a Sahara Challenge would be for us this year (I guess we will all want to spend our hols in Kalkan!!), but maybe we could look at something collectively?
Any suggestions guys?
Happy New Year! (Hangover is slowly lifting!)

Hmm, what about a challenge to have a meal in every restaurant in Kalkan? I''m afraid that''s as about as an energetic activity that I feel up to at the moment. LOL
-
Yes, maybe New Years day wasn''t the best day to suggest it Joan! I could sure do justice to an Aubergine special tonight! Too much alcahol, too little food at last night''s party! >:D
-
What about team Kalkan to walk the Lycean Way or something in Turkey? If it''s in Turkey maybe we could get sponsorship from Turkish companies especially as proceeds as staying within Turkey.

Hi Kim, You make mention of a Kalkan Challenge 2007 when surely you meant 2008 !! ::) >:D It is a small wonder joanH didn''t pick up on that !!

Sounds a good idea Wendy

Yep Cruisecontroller, I did mean 2008! I think the Lycian Way walk would be good for everybody, as you don''t need to be really fit to take part. Everyone could do it at their own pace and in their own time and we could all log our distances over the course of a year. If there are a few of us all going out at once, then maybe we could all arrange a full day and make it a bit of fun, whilst raising a bit of money? I dont mind getting some T-shirts organised for participants so that we all get a bit of publicity as well for the forum (could get the logo on with a new logo designed for ''Team Kalkan Lycian Challenge'').
Be good for working off a few Efes, building up the tan and to get to know people.
All welcome!!

Im more than happy to arrange T-shirts etc for participants, I think this is a great idea! Especially if a few of us all did it at the same time!
-
Im up for that - especially with fellow EK members - would be great to meet up!!

Hi Kim
We might be up for something as long as you don''t need to be tooooo fit it would give us a push to do some exercise ;D ;D

Hi, I would love to join in on that. I am fairly new to the site as a property owner since Sept 07. I am coming out with a friend on 4th Feb for a week (very excited as it is the first time I will have slept in my lovely pad) and as it will be so much cooler I am intending to do the parts of the trail around Kalkan, maybe from Patara etc
When are you thinking of arranging this? I would love to support it as long as not in blistering heat! :P
What a great way to meet fellow Kalkaners!

I think if we can all indicate when we are going to be in Kalkan, maybe we have to organise ''sub groups'', as the chances of us all being there together are limited. I am going out in May and then September, so if we can keep in touch re dates, I will be more than happy to be the co-ordinator for anyone who is out there at same time. Can all of you who fancy a reasonably day''s walking and lots of stops for refreshments and chats, please post your Kalkan dates for being there during May and Sept.....but please don''t stop arranging your own meet ups at any other times to suit your selves. We can then share our joint expeirences and journey routes and get a really competitive thing going!!!
-
I am out there for 3 weeks starting around 15th May, so would love to get together then with anyone for a days walking... I''ll watch this space and see what we can get arranged.
-
Why don''t you put your holiday dates on the calendar and then post in the event part that you are up for the challenge. That way you will have an idea whether there is enough people to participate and who to contact ?
-
I thought I''d put our dates on the calendar but I''ve failed. We are there 7th-10th March, 6th - 19th June and then Sept, poss the 8th or 15th for 2 weeks.
