Title: Who does the best Kekova Boat Trip?
Post by: Bez on June 05, 2012, 08:17:31 PM: Next week I am hoping to go on a Kekova boat trip for the day but I am unsure where to book.

We usually use Abi Travel but wondered who does the best trip for a good day and value for money?

Post by: Charlie on June 05, 2012, 09:10:39 PM: Try putting Kekova in the search Field above. MnM gave details of Kekova trips only last week. From memory the cost was 50TL per person and was organised through Volume Travel. Having previously been on one of these trips it is excellent value for money.

Post by: Ryss on June 08, 2012, 12:07:34 AM: a kekova boat trip is a must for sure. i did my trip with volume travel and had a most wonderful time - was quite relaxing (since i cant swim i had all the time to relax - will rectify that for my next visit hopefully), the lunch prepared was good and the group was approx 12 of us. a day well spent it was. my only regret was not being able to explore the simena castle on our return trip to kas as i was sitting at that cafe that makes the delish homemade ice cream eating once more! ahhh happy days! :) whoever you go with, enjoy!

cptergun, i am now establishing you do boat trips....ah well, hopefully there is a next time for me in kalkan!

Did the Kekova boat trip through volume travel and can thoroughly recommend it.

We are coming to Kalkan on 6th August, it will be our first visit and we cant wait :)

We are 3 adults and 2 young teenagers. We definitely want to do a boat trip and I would like it to be on a traditional Gulet. I would love to see the submerged ruins of the Kekova trip but does anyone know if this trip is on a Agulet or is it a modern boat?

Also do we just arrive on the day or is it best to book a few days in advance?

They drive you to the harbour near Kekova and you have lunch (lovely) in a restaurant there, then get a gulet over Kekova. Very good guide. We booked in advance. The other way is to get a taxi/dolmus/drive to Kas and pick up a boat there. Looks like Antler's doing that today so you may be able to glean more fom his blog tomorrow. Worth looking at the tour operators on the web to see what they do. I think prices are all pretty similar. Caroline :) :) :)
