Post by: pattaya on February 24, 2012, 12:57:28 PM
Help... would welcome some input on how to transfere water & electric bills into my Name . As i'm being told i have to pay £250 to do so this seems very high to me ? is there a set fee or is it down to developer ?
Any thoughts anyone ??

it has cost us 455T/L to do the both in total, this is a standard charge and fairly painless affair.

Pattaya...noble sentiments but remember if they stay in his name

[1] probably he will not pay them so you risk the chance of being disconnected and

[2] if they are still on builders rates those rates are considerably higher than domestic rates

I understand ... point taken.
Was just trying to find out if there was a standard charge, or are you just in the hands of your developer. If it was the case that the electric company charge a set amont I could just go along myself and sort it all.

Thank you for your help

No problems .... but I am not sure if both parties need to agree to the transfer ..no doubt someone [maybe Whiteonyx]  will know as they seem to have done it recently

Also please please make sure that all bills are paid up fully before the transfer as otherwise you may find yourself inheriting your builders current costs  :(
